Save On Your Wedding Using Valentine's Day Clearance

Tis the season for love. Not just love. Discounted love. Valentine's Day just passed, which means that a ton of heart-shaped items and love-centric items are marked down at least 50% off. Hello wedding savings. Yes, you can absolutely save on your wedding using Valentine's Day clearance. And no, no one will ever know.

Well, your wedding budget will know because there will be more in it.

But none of your guests will know. Or care, honestly.

Use Valentine's Day clearance to your advantage when you're wedding planning. After the holiday is over, pick up candles, garland, petals, and more for your red wedding at a fraction of the price. Find out more at www.abrideonabudget.com.

Save On Your Wedding Using Valentine's Day Clearance

You can look at discounted candy, but everything I found does say Valentine's on it and although you want to save money, you don't want to look like you saved money. It's not like Christmas where you can buy bags of candy with red, green, and silver wrappers then just use the ones that match your colors. Valentine's Day candy always seems to have hearts all over. That's fine. It's the "To:" and "From:" on them (you know, so the kids can hand the fun-sized candy out in class) that makes them unusable for your wedding favors or candy buffet.

So you have to get a little creative. Buying Valentine's items is a great way to save, but unless you are getting married on Valentine's Day, the branding doesn't make sense.

But, there's more than just candy on sale.

Use Valentine's Day clearance to your advantage when you're wedding planning. After the holiday is over, pick up candles, garland, petals, and more for your red wedding at a fraction of the price. Find out more at www.abrideonabudget.com.
My friend Erika found those wooden words spelling out "Amore" and "Love" when I originally wrote this post. Those are super cute for a welcome table, a lounge, or a buffet table.

She loves how they look as is. Personally, I would use spray paint to make them my colors so they were a little more subdued and didn't take away from the rest of my decor. But that's what's great about saving money. You have that extra money, then, to buy things like spray paint and glitter.

You could also use Mod Podge to affix scrapbook paper on top of them if you wanted to add some color that way too.

Erika also found fake rose petals. That's awesome -- and a ton cheaper than actually buying real rose petals (and, if you remember, I actually paid for rose petals to be spread at our welcome table and they never made it to the venue).

Flowers are so expensive, so any way you can save in that department is something I support.

I found this felt garland,  and I thought it was cute. If your venue has a mantle, this would be awesome. Or at the bar. Or welcome table. Or candy buffet.

Seriously, for $1, you can find a spot for it.

Keep an eye out for small toys too, in case you're having young kids at your wedding. You are going to want to make goody bags (it helps to entertain kids at a wedding). I'm not sure if those whistles are your best bet, but those spinning tops look great. Plus, an 18-count bag for under $2 is a great way to keep your budget down.

You may have to get creative, and you may have to search through a sea of cardboard cards, but it's worth it.

Shark Week Wedding Ideas

UPDATE: Shark Week 2022 started Sunday, July 24. Did it inspire you to add some Shark Week Wedding Ideas into your wedding?

We don't have cable and I'm already way more nervous in the ocean than anyone my age should be, so Discovery's Shark Week is not for me. But for so many people, Shark Week is a holiday in itself to be celebrated. A week long TV marathon featuring the ocean's not-so-friendly creatures.

To get in on the fun, I was thinking about a Shark Week wedding. It would be great to have it during Shark Week. Then your busiest week of wedding planning would be Shark Week, and you would be able to sit and relax and watch sharks on TV after running around planning all day.

If you're excited about Discovery's Shark Week, you'll LOVE these Shark Week wedding ideas from www.abrideonabudget.com!

Shark Week Wedding Ideas

Affiliate links are included in this post and A Bride On A Budget may make a small commission if you use them.

Shark Week actually lends to a lot of ideas (some of which are really cute) and really fun. Some are really obvious, which you can definitely do, or you can be a little more subtle about it.

Shark Week Wedding Invitations

With this type of theme, invitations are important. You want your guests to immediately know they're invited to a Shark Week wedding. This isn't something you want to spring on them like a shark attack (womp womp womp).

These Shark Wedding Invitations are a cute idea.

Shark Week Wedding Décor

For a Shark Week-themed wedding, you're going to want to focus on blues for your décor. Personally, I would go with a navy and add in pops of a lighter blue. It lends to really great wedding photos (and, after all, it is a wedding).

For your tables, go with dark blue table runners with light blue napkins. Spread this Shark Confetti over the table as well.

For Shark Week centerpieces, blue and white flowers are perfect. Place a small clay shark on skewer and add it to the bunch. Your guests will love the surprise of finding the shark in the bouquet.

If you have a way to hang paper lanterns from the ceiling of your venue, blue and white ones would be perfect. If you don't want plain circles, these fish shaped paper lanterns would be cute too.

Shark Week Wedding Attire

I would absolutely put the bridesmaids in navy dresses. You could either have them match completely or do mix and match dresses. But have the color match for sure.

Have the groomsmen match with navy vests and ties and in a gray tux because, come on, this is Shark Week. You have to have them in shark gray. If not, that's a big missed opportunity.

Shark Week Wedding Floral Ideas

I would keep flowers really simple and go with baby's breath bouquets for the bridesmaids.

Gypsophila bouquets are really popular and budget friendly. You only need about five to seven stems of baby's breath for a full bouquet. Tie them together with a piece of navy ribbon. You can make smaller versions for the groomsmen's boutonnieres.

Plus, you can say the white represents a shark's white teeth (that and I think any other color would really take away from the theme).

And red would just be terrible.

Shark Week Wedding Accessories

During the reception, you'll have a ton of places that you can add in a pop of shark, but you really don't want to go overboard (What a terrible -- and unintentional -- pun that was). If you do, you'll look like you're throwing more of a birthday party than a wedding.

But there's no way you can have a Shark Week-themed wedding without this shark-shaped guest book. They're really cute and are a nice keepsake for the future. Your guests will sign their names on miniature wooden sea creatures (crabs, dolphins, etc.) and will drop them into the shark's belly. After your wedding, you can display this on a wall.

And that's great because most of your Shark Week wedding décor will get tossed or lost, but you will definitely keep this.

Shark Week Wedding Desserts

You absolutely need shark cake toppers.

Wedding cake toppers are a place to shine. They're really a great opportunity to tie your wedding theme into your cake.  Plus, if you have a really cute topper, you can have simpler cake decorations.

And, small aside: Cakes are expensive and elaborate decorations add to that expense. Any intricate and ornate decorations involve a ton of manual labor -- which you will end up paying for. So yes, it would be cute to have waves piped all over your cake with a ton of fondant air bubbles, but you will be paying someone to sit and roll those fondant bubbles, and that labor cost adds up.

But if you do decide on it, can be cute.

Also cute: Shark-themed cupcakes.

If you're excited about Discovery's Shark Week, you'll LOVE these Shark Week wedding ideas from www.abrideonabudget.com!

Regular cupcakes with blue-tinted frosting and a chocolate shark fin work perfectly. Who wouldn't love those? Plus, they're really eye catching, especially since frosting just lends itself to looking like waves.

If you want to be simpler, you can dress up plain cupcakes with shark cupcake toppers. Just drop them off with your baker and they'll show up to your Shark Week wedding already decorated.

If you're planning on a candy buffet, you're in luck.

You can have foil-wrapped candies alongside shark gummies. They're cheap if you buy them in bulk. And if you just have a little bucket of sharks mixed in with the other candies, it will make your guests really smile. Plus, it won't be overkill.

If you have time, you can make Shark Candy Bark and add it to your candy buffet.

Or you can just make Shark Pudding Cups and hand those out as your guests are leaving your reception.

Shark Week Wedding Favors

Shark coozies are a fun wedding favor. And they're perfect for summer weddings because your guests can use them during your wedding.

For your bridesmaids and flower girls, you can pick up this cute "I Chews You" Shark bracelet. Or you can pick up this Shark Week ring stack. It comes with matching bracelets and earrings too. Pick them up for your bridal party, then have them wear the jewelry during your ceremony.

If you're excited about Discovery's Shark Week, you'll LOVE these Shark Week wedding ideas from www.abrideonabudget.com!

Seriously, that would be the perfect ending to your perfect Shark Week wedding.

July 4th Wedding Ideas

I remember, back in 2014, Jessica Simpson was planning a July 4th wedding to Eric Johnson, and it got me thinking: What do you think about couples who schedule a wedding on a holiday?

Jessica Simpson said something along the lines of (I'm paraphrasing here): "I used to hate them when I was younger but now I realized it's an extra day to spend with family." My brother translated that to, "I hated them until I decided to do one."

Honestly, there are a lot of 4th of July wedding pros and cons. It really all depends on how you look at it.

Personally, I think it's hard on your guests. Travel costs around holidays skyrocket, so anyone flying will have to pay a premium. Those same guests get hit again if they're staying in hotels because holiday rates are generally higher than regular rates. And sure, your guests don't have to travel. They can RSVP no. But for the people who want to be there, you need to take them into consideration when you're planning.

I'll be honest. Weddings on holiday weekends are one of my five wedding pet peeves. But holiday-centered weddings lend to some really easy, beautiful, and unique wedding themes.

Planning a patriotic wedding? Get some July 4th Wedding Inspiration from www.abrideonabudget.com.

When we were selecting our colors, I picked eggplant, lilac, and silver because purple is my favorite color and lilac and silver are good complements. A fourth of July wedding is ready made. You already know your colors will be red, white, and blue, so you might as well have some fun with it.

July 4th Wedding Inspiration

July 4th Wedding Stationery

Your save the dates are the introduction to your wedding, and, in this case, the introduction to your July 4th wedding theme.

So start your wedding theme off right by letting your guests know that you consciously picked Independence Day to declare your independence from single life and marry your best friend. You don't want people to think you picked the day to save money. Have them think you picked it with purpose (even if the purpose was to save money).

When you send your save the dates or invitations, be sure to incorporate red, white, and blue into them. You don't have to go over the top with your stationery, like skip the fireworks all over the invites, but a little pop of the colors is great.

A few of our favorite July 4th Wedding Stationery ideas are:

July 4th Wedding Attire

For your July 4th wedding, you still want to wear your traditional white wedding dress. But, add a pop of color with something like blue high heels.

You can have your bridesmaids in blue with a bouquet of red roses. If you want something subtle, you can always add a little red, white, and blue to your garter.

Then, for your groom, he and his groomsmen can wear traditional suits or tuxedos. But then they can add something like red, white, and blue suspenders or patriotic flag socks to go with the theme.

July 4th Wedding Venues

As far as venues, look for something rustic and very Americana. Think old barns, fields, and farmhouses.

A venue with a clear outdoor area with a view of a downtown area would be incredible if said downtown area was setting off fireworks that night. That way, you could have fireworks at your wedding without actually having to purchase explosives.

July 4th Wedding Decorations

When you decorate, you can go as minimal or over the top as you want. I mean, it's America. No one's gonna say you went too far.

Consider red, white, and blue paper lanterns, red chairs along white tablecloths, white chairs among red and blue tablecloths, blue napkins, this Red, White & I Do banner ... you definitely have a lot of options for décor.

You'll want to create some beautiful July 4th wedding centerpieces as well.

You could go a little Americana with mirrored plates with apples and vases with carnations, or just skip the apples and go with red, white, and blue flowers in vases on various sizes.

What you could do, too, is paint vases white and then just go with blue and red flowers (since white flowers are generally associated with death here in the US).

Finish your décor with a guest book that lends to your theme. This Firework Red and Blue 3D wedding guestbook is perfect. Leave a pen by the print and have each guest sign a firework piece. This is really cute to display in your home after your wedding.

Our guest book was a book and I had intentions of it sitting on our coffee table, but it's sitting in a box somewhere -- and I honestly have no idea where that somewhere is right now. I should have gone with something to hang. That way, you can enjoy it often.

July 4th Wedding Desserts

I love cake. Absolutely love it. When I heard the suggestion to pick your favorite thing and don't compromise on it in your wedding budget, mine was cake (Pete's, if you're wondering, was food and music). I had to have a top tier cake. It worked out. Everyone loved our wedding cake. Everyone I talked to admitted to having multiple pieces of it. That's the kind of compliment that makes me happy.

So personally, I wouldn't mess with cake. But if you wanted to incorporate your theme, a tiered cake covered in white buttercream icing with sliced strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries on each tier is on the top of my list of 4th of July wedding cakes. Just make sure the fruit is fresh and local to give it an extra kick.

If you wanted a traditional cake, you could make our red, white, and blue chocolate stars, then have a pair of them added to the cake plates. That way, you have your regular cake but also a bit of your theme as well.

July 4th Wedding Sparkler Send Off

And, of course, no 4th of July wedding would be complete without a sparkler send off. The photo above is my absolute favorite sparkler photo of all time. I actually chose our photographers because they had sparkler photos in their example books and I wanted to find a photographer who could do this.

And then, at the end of the night, it was nearly impossible to grab people for a sparkler send off because they were having too much fun on the dance floor and enjoying the band (good thing music was one of Pete's priorities because we nailed it). So, it didn't work out for me. But if you are having a July 4th wedding, you absolutely need sparklers.

And, to let your guests know that you are having sparklers, you might want to set them up at the front of your venue or at each guest's seat with a small When Sparks Fly sign on them.

Why You Shouldn't Get Married On A Holiday Weekend

Before we get started, I should tell you: If you're planning a wedding on a holiday weekend, you're not going to like this post. I mean, it's titled "why you shouldn't get married on a holiday weekend" for a reason, not for irony.

There's not going to be a sentence at the end of this that says, "but it's your wedding, so you do you." Because I don't believe that.

I'm super opinionated on this. Getting married on a holiday weekend is one of my five wedding pet peeves.

The other four? A Friday wedding, no favors at the wedding, when the bridesmaids keep constantly fiddling with the bride's veil during the ceremony, and having a buffet instead of a sit down dinner.

Anyway. You might be thinking this is just a wedding blog, written by a random person on the internet who you've never met. But I assure you, other people have this same opinion. They just won't vocalize it. They'll say it's your wedding; they'll say you do you; but deep down, they'll be hoping you change your mind.

Oh sure, they'll still show up for your wedding. I've been to many weddings on holiday weekends. I always RSVP yes.

But it is asking a lot of your guests. And you should think about that when you're picking your date.

And if you don't, well, you can't say someone didn't warn you.

Should you get married on a holiday weekend? Find 5 reasons why you shouldn't get married on a holiday weekend here.

Why You Shouldn't Get Married On A Holiday Weekend

There are five main reasons why you shouldn't get married on a holiday weekend. These are in no particular order.

Well, let me say this. These are the five main reasons I would tell you not to get married on a holiday weekend if you were my friend and asking my opinion.

Other people might have other reasons.

Traveling is more expensive on holiday weekends

Many people travel on holiday weekends, and the travel industry takes advantage of that. It's a time when gas prices and flight costs increase. Plus, hotels can charge a premium because of the holiday weekend. So rooms and flights and car rentals are all more expensive.

It'll end up costing your guests who are traveling a lot more than if you were planning your wedding on a non-holiday weekend. And those costs might deter them from coming at all.

Also, keep this in mind if you're planning a wedding on a "holiday in your town only" weekend. We have a huge annual festival here in our town and during that weekend, hotel rooms are almost double their regular price. So everyone here knows booking a wedding during that "holiday" weekend is a terrible idea.

People may have traditions

People usually have traditional plans. We have family come visit us every year for Easter weekend. That has been our plan for over five years now. If someone we know was getting married that weekend, it would really throw us off. Do we leave our family, who is only in town for three days? Do we skip the wedding?

And that goes for holidays that you might not consider a holiday, like Halloween. Parents, and often aunts and uncles without children, go trick-or-treating that day. So you are asking them to choose between their tradition of trick-or-treating or your wedding.

And sure, it's easy to say that there will be other years to trick-or-treat and your wedding will only happen once. But you don't get to make that decision for other people. And planning you wedding on a holiday or a holiday weekend forces some of your guests to make that decision.

And you might get upset with the decision they make.

You won't save as much as you think

Many people want to plan a wedding on a holiday weekend because it seems like it would be a good way to save. But it's potentially not going to be cheaper on a holiday weekend.

A lot of vendors have set prices. Florists don't sell less flowers on a holiday weekend than on a non-holiday weekend. In fact, around some holidays -- Valentine's Day and Mother's Day, specifically -- flowers are more expensive. So you may actually pay a premium if you're planning your wedding on a holiday weekend.

And some venues will look at long holiday weekends as a series of Saturdays. Friday is Saturday because people have a bunch of days off after; Saturday is Saturday because it's Saturday; Sunday is Saturday because there's a day off after.

Venues are hip to your save a buck scheme and often won't actually give Friday or Sunday wedding discounts on a holiday weekend.

You're monopolizing the weekend

People look forward to holidays because it's a day off from work. Not for everyone, of course, but for a lot of people. People just want to relax and have a day of nothing to do.

And of course, you want to say your wedding is a big party, and it's the perfect way to spend a day off. But not everyone would agree.

Some people just need that extra day off from work to catch up on things like chores or sleep or season two of Ted Lasso. Who knows what people do on their days off. But, by having your wedding in the middle of a holiday weekend -- one people have been looking forward to since the last time that holiday rolled around -- people probably won't be happy. They'll show up to your wedding, of course, but they'll be grumbling about how they had something else planned for the weekend.

Which brings us to ...

People may already have plans

People have plans for the long weekend. We always set our plans for Memorial Day and Columbus Day weekend the year before because we know it's a long weekend, so it's a great time for us to travel without having to burn a paid vacation day.

If you plan your wedding on a holiday weekend, and don't give people a ton of advanced notice, they may already be booked. And then they can't come.

BRIDAL BABBLE: Do you agree with these reasons why you shouldn't get married on a holiday weekend? Do you have your own reasons. Let us know in the comments.

Homemade Red, White, And Blue Chocolate Star Wedding Favors

It's Memorial Day Weekend, which is making me think of red, white, and blue wedding favors. They can be really festive if you're having a wedding this weekend or a July 4th wedding. And, if you've been around here a while, you know I'm a big fan of edible wedding favors. So, of course, I think these red, white, and blue chocolate star wedding favors are perfect.

You can make them at home yourself whenever you have time, then save them until your wedding day.

I made them using a star-shaped silicone mold. If you're making these for your wedding, I would recommend picking up multiple molds. It would take you a really long time to make enough for all your guests if you could only make a couple at a time.

A perfect patriotic wedding favor are these Homemade Red, White, And Blue Chocolate Star Wedding Favors. Find out how to make them at www.abrideonabudget.com. You can change them to your wedding colors as well.

Homemade Red, White, And Blue Chocolate Star Wedding Favors

Now, small aside: I'm making them red, white, and blue in this tutorial because I'm posting this on Memorial Day Weekend. Honestly, you can make them any colors you want.

What You'll Need:
What You'll Do:

A perfect patriotic wedding favor are these Homemade Red, White, And Blue Chocolate Star Wedding Favors. Find out how to make them at www.abrideonabudget.com. You can change them to your wedding colors as well.

Using the garlic grater side of a cheese grater, shave the blue then red candy melts into the cavities of the star-shaped mold.

You don't want to completely fill the bottom with shavings. You do want to see the white through some of it.

And don't worry if you end up getting some of the shavings on the side. They'll add to the character of these.

Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwavable-safe bowl. I suggest regular chocolate chips for this instead of white candy melts. Personally,  I don't love the taste of candy melts (although they have gotten better recently), so I vote for white chocolate chips instead.

Melt them for 30 seconds, then stir. Put them back in the microwave for another 30 seconds, then stir. Continue this until the chocolate chips are completely melted.

A perfect patriotic wedding favor are these Homemade Red, White, And Blue Chocolate Star Wedding Favors. Find out how to make them at www.abrideonabudget.com. You can change them to your wedding colors as well.

Spoon a dollop of melted white chocolate into each star-shaped cavity in the mold. Don't overfill them because then the bottom of these won't sit flat. You're putting them in a plastic bag, so it's not the biggest deal if they're not perfectly flat, but I really am a perfectionist when it comes to anything wedding.

A perfect patriotic wedding favor are these Homemade Red, White, And Blue Chocolate Star Wedding Favors. Find out how to make them at www.abrideonabudget.com. You can change them to your wedding colors as well.

Bounce the silicone mold on your countertop a few times. That will flatten out the melted white chocolate.

If you're like me and you were messy when you were shaving the red and blue candy melts, the extra shavings along the top of the mold will fall into your chocolate when you're bouncing the mold. I think it's okay but if you're even more of a perfectionist than I am, you'll want to wipe the mold off before scooping the white chocolate.

A perfect patriotic wedding favor are these Homemade Red, White, And Blue Chocolate Star Wedding Favors. Find out how to make them at www.abrideonabudget.com. You can change them to your wedding colors as well.

Put them in the fridge to cool completely before popping them out of the mold. They'll come out so easily and without any real effort. Put them in a bag to sit in your fridge until you're ready to package them.

When you are, cut thin, long strips of red and blue card stock. Fold them back and forth, like an accordion. Then, cut them every two or so inches to create paper shred (or you could just purchase paper shred if you don't feel like making it).

Add the paper shred to the bottom of a plastic treat bag.

Put two or three red, white, and blue chocolate stars into the bag. Tie it with a white ribbon.

Place one at each guest's seat at your wedding.

Halloween Wedding Favor Ideas

I've never been to a Halloween-themed wedding, if you can believe that. But I know people who have thrown them, and I always think about them this time of year. With Halloween right around the corner, all I have are ghouls and goblins on the brain. So this post was easy to dream up: Halloween Wedding Favor Ideas.

Planning a Halloween-themed wedding or a Halloween party? Check out these Halloween wedding favor ideas from www.abrideonabudget.com.

I sorta wanna have Halloween party this year, just so I can use these spooky Halloween wedding favor ideas. And I would have an amazing candy buffet because, really, not doing one is a missed opportunity.

Halloween Favor Ideas

Planning a Halloween-themed wedding or a Halloween party? Check out these Halloween wedding favor ideas from www.abrideonabudget.com.
Ghost Design White Chocolate Oreo Cookies
It's simple to start with these delicious ghost design white chocolate Oreo cookies. I can tell you they're delicious because I actually had one. Yes, this exact one.

I'm usually not a fan of white chocolate or Oreos, if I'm being honest, but this had such a great balance that I loved it. The only bummer was that I only had one and split it with Pete (now that's love). These come individually wrapped and tied with black ribbon, so there is absolutely nothing you have to do with them besides place your order.

Pumpkin Design Chocolate Covered Oreo Cookies
If ghosts aren't your thing, what about pumpkins?

You can pick up these pumpkin design chocolate covered Oreo cookies instead of the ghosts. They are just as delicious (because yup, I had one of these too. But I had it when I was out of town so I didn't share. Shh!).

What would be super cute is if you actually paired these pumpkins with the ghosts and alternated them at each table setting. They would be super eye catching. Plus, to give it a little more pop, you can choose to order all milk or all white chocolate, depending on what you want.

Black And White Swirl Lollipops
Edible favors are always the best, but what if you want something cute and simple?

Check out these black and white swirl lollipops. These will absolutely look Halloween-themed with your Halloween wedding decor, but they just look lollipops on their own (in case you have a few extra that you want to stuff into Christmas stockings after your wedding).

Chocolate Dipped Oreo Pops
Sticking with the stick theme (oh, what a word choice), check out these chocolate dipped Oreo pops.

They have a little more finesse to them, as opposed to the other dipped Oreos. They're one of the fancier Halloween wedding favor ideas. You purchase these per pop, all which come in cellophane and color coordinated ribbon. So if you would want only pumpkins or only mummies, you could order that way and not get stuck with any designs you don't like.

Purchase here.

Pumpkin-Shaped Brownie Pops
Our third stick idea is these pumpkin-shaped brownie pops. You can pick between brownie, marble, Nutella (yes, yes, yes), vanilla, and white chocolate raspberry.

Once you choose your flavor, you can pick your design (in this case, pumpkin), and then color (white or orange). It really gives you a variety of options, but not too many so you get overwhelmed (honestly, I would pick Nutella orange pumpkins. That's a crowd pleaser).

These come individually wrapped and with ribbon, so all you have to do is drop these at your guests' seats.

Halloween-Themed Wine Glasses
We talked about wine wedding favors before, because they're always a good favor idea. But I really like Halloween-themed wine glasses for a Halloween-themed wedding.

Plus, these would be great if you had some sort of "witch's brew" punch. That would also save on your bar tab at the end of the night because signature cocktails generally end up being cheaper than an open bar.

You can personalize these with different designs and text (so don't worry, they won't say Happy Halloween on them, unless you want them too).

Drink Up Witches Bottle Openers
Speaking of drinking, check out these super cute Drink Up Witches bottle openers.

Now, for me, they're a very sassy Halloween wedding favor idea, but most people don't cringe as often as I do (except my mom).

We are always looking for a bottle opener in this house, so this would actually be a brilliant and useful wedding favor because (I know for sure) most people are like us. Plus, you can personalize these too, with your name and date. And, if you really aren't fond of the saying, there's one that's just images of pumpkins, so that's a little tamer (especially if your grandma is coming to your reception).

Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin PocketBacs
I've never met anyone who didn't have a slight obsession with PocketBacs. I'm always smelling these hand sanitizers -- and getting them in my Christmas stocking. Plus, they're so great to keep in your bag, especially for when you're traveling (gas station bathrooms are often gross, but necessary on road trips).

Instead of looking for a hand sanitizer with a Halloween image, I would suggest one that's a little more timeless, like the Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin PocketBacs. There's also other fall varieties, like the Pumpkin Spice Latte. It's not as pretty, but surely has mass appeal.

Pumpkin Jelly Candies
If you want to be a little more hands on with your Halloween wedding favors, check out these pumpkin jelly candies

They're adorable and can easily be put into a cellophane treat bag and tied with a ribbon. Although organza bags are pretty, because of the sugar on the outside, go with a bag that lacks holes. The last thing you want is sugar all over your guests' plates that is meant for salad or bread.

Customized Playing Cards
If you've ever hung out with my family for a holiday, you've played cards. Growing up, all the adults would gather around the table to play card games and it was such a treat if one of the kids was allowed to sit at the adult table. So cards as a wedding favor hits me right in the heart. They're perfect.

If you like cards, check out these customized playing cards. There are a few Halloween designs -- cemeteries and various pumpkins -- to chose from. Plus, you can actually choose the card color, so if you're having a Halloween wedding, but you're not tied to black and orange, this is a great way to incorporate your colors.

Photo Booth Props
Photo booths are still really hot for weddings and couples are using the photo strip as part guest book, part wedding favor. Definitely have the photo booth props fit with Halloween.

This set comes with 30-pieces, which is definitely enough. There are masks, mustaches, and more.
