How To Blind Hem Your Dress Pants For A Wedding

It was the night before Pete was to be a groomsman in a wedding and he tried on his suit for the first time. The pants were a little long. "Can you hem them?" Pete asked me. I said I could, then called my mom to see if I could borrow her sewing machine. She said I should actually put a blind stitch in dress pants, and do it by hand, and then she said she'd be over in a few minutes to show me.

It was actually really easy. So, in case you don't live two doors down from your mom who can run over and show you how to hem your husband's pants for a wedding, no worries. You have me.

Fold the pants inside out, then start stitching. You want to go in through the back, slightly grab a small piece of the front of the pants (only a few threads worth) and come back out.

Continue until you reach a pin, or until you run out of thread, and tie a few knots in the thread to keep the stitch from falling out.

Keep going until the entire bottom is hemmed.

What's really great is with this stitch, it looks just like the normal hem of the pants and you don't have to cut them. You just tuck it up inside and call it a day. Much easier.
