Check Out Some Non-Traditional Registry Items At Target #TargetWedding

Content and/or other value provided by our partner, Target. All opinions are my own.

When Pete and I were getting ready to register, we sat down to talk about what we wanted to put on our registry. See, we were already living on our own before we were a we, and then we lived together because we were engaged. Which means we came into our registry planning with a ton of items in our cabinets: we had just gotten a full set of anodized pots and pans, we had a new set of silverware, we had a bed and sheets for it ...

So we decided that we should fill our registry with fun stuff. Items for the beach, movies we wanted to watch together, items for things we could do together.

That's what we went in thinking and then we registered for items like a mixer and blender and new plates. So much for registering for fun stuff (unless you count the Scrub Daddy, but I'm not sure a cleaning item can be considered fun).

If you decide to register at Target, there's so much fun stuff ... way more fun than cleaning products (although you can get those at Target too, if you want to register for them).

If you decide to create a Target Wedding Registry, consider this great four person Coleman dome tent. It's perfect for an impromptu camping trip. Which can happen, honestly. When you don't have anything to do for the weekend, you can just pick up and go camping. Or you can turn it into a new tradition. My family and I used to camp every summer and it is such a great memory. I would love to continue that tradition with Pete ... but we can't without a tent. We're married and still don't have one. We actually don't have anything for camping.

Should've registered at Target.

If you do, you can grab things like a cooler, which is so very important for camping. You can pack some food and drinks and just sit and chill.

Or go to the pool. When we camped, we never went camping in the woods We always went to a campground that had electricity and running water and a game room and a pool.

So beach towels are a necessity. And you can register for them at Target because, believe it or not, those can be super expensive. And when you just paid for a wedding, you really don't have extra money lying around for anything -- not even new beach towels.

Or beach chairs.

We would often camp near a beach so we could spend a few afternoons relaxing in the sand (plus, a beach is always cheap entertainment, which is a big part of summer vacations).
And on our summer camping trip packing lists were bikes.

Which, you guessed it, you can get at Target. And you can add it to your Target wedding registry. You can add anything at Target onto your registry, which is awesome for those of you who already are living with your groom-to-be and don't need things like China plates and beer mugs.

  12. Oh, hey, nice! I tend not to shop at Target, because it's halfway across town and sales usually don't cover the gas, but a gift card would be super-helpful.
