DIY Chocolate Seashells And Sand Favor

I love summer weddings. I just think summer is such a great season in general, but for weddings, it adds so much happiness, sunshine, and cute possibilities. And if you have a beach wedding in summer, you definitely can incorporate things like seashells and sand – which is basically free décor. And, when it comes to weddings, anything you can get free is great. You can also incorporate seashells and sand into your wedding favors too – edible ones at that.

DIY Chocolate Seashells And Sand Favor

This is a really cute wedding favor if you're planning a beach wedding.

If I would have thought about this when I was planning our beach wedding, I may have gone with this instead of our beach bucket wedding favors.

What You'll Need:

What You'll Do:

Pour the brown cane sugar into the bottom of the treat bag.

It's important that you make sure to use cane sugar as it will be crystals and will look like sand. Traditional brown sugar will be too thin for the illusion.

Add your chocolate shells into the bag.

Buying pre-made bulk chocolates will make this a lot easier on you. You could buy a chocolate seashell mold and make your own, but that would be a lot of chocolate seashells to make during wedding week.

Tie with a piece of gold ribbon.

Simple.

And when you're DIY'ing your favors, you definitely need them to be simple since you're making large quantities of them. If you pick something that is too difficult or time consuming, you risk getting bored, rushing, and having a terrible looking favor. That doesn't exactly say thank you.

  1. I LOVE this - I wish I knew about this when I was researching favors for our wedding - we ended up giving mini-photo albums with a seashell on them.

  3. Simple, easy and very appropriate for a beach wedding, but I would be afraid of them melting due to the heat, if the reception was outside. Great idea!

  6. So cute! I really thought it was sand when I first saw it! I'm with Tina on the DIY table -- and incorporate some way to let the guests eat their crushed up graham crackers. Frozen yogurt, maybe? Maybe I'm just hungry.

Either way, the idea is super cute!
