I liked the favor so much that I deconstructed it and put it back together for a tutorial. And then I ate it because, really, edible favors are meant to be eaten.
DIY Ombre Candy Bag Favors
What You'll Need:
- Jelly beans in two colors
- Chocolate-coated candies in one color
- Small organza bags
- Card stock or personalized thank you tags
- Marker
- One-hole punch
Now, a small aside. Purchase bulk chocolates in single color. You don't really want to buy bags with every color in them and spend time separating them into colors.
You can actually purchase bulk jelly beans in single colors. That way, you get one color and you don't have to sort.
What you can also do is get three candy elements of the same color (preferably your wedding color), but different shades so that when you layer them, you get the ombre look that's so hot right now. Seriously, everything from hair to candy is getting the ombre touch.
Plus, we actually made ombre pine cones, so you can combine both these elements into your wedding.
Make a card from card stock, punch a hole in it, and write whatever you'd like. You can print it too if you're feeling fancy. Some ideas are your initials, your wedding date, the words thank you. The possibilities are only limited by the size of your card.
If you don't feel like making them, you can just order personalized thank you tags instead.
BRIDAL BABBLE: What would you write on the tag if you were making these DIY ombre candy bag favors?
I would design cards to print that matched the design of the invitations. This is a very lovely and simple craft that anyone could do. It just goes to show that the favors don't need to be expensive in order to be beautiful. :)
